..For the third time in a year.

A few reasons for it; I’ve been wanting to move my portfolio over to a database driven site for a while to make uploading easier, and so had two realistic options (that I was familier with) Indexhibit or WordPress. I chose WordPress just because its way more flexible than Indexhibit, if a larger entity, and uber customisable with plug-ins and stuff. I also wanted to get rid of the flash galleries I had as they were a pain to update and of course not iPad/phone friendly, and to have BIG images. As it is I’m pretty pleased with it. Everything’s built from the ground up, so took about two days solid of coding (fun). I used the Galleria-wp plugin for the gallery, and some other plug-in for the drop down menu, with a few mods to get them to position and look right.
It validates as HTML5, a few CSS3 bits to make it stand out, no idea how it will look in IE, hopefully it degrades nicely, will check tomorrow. May tweek the blog a touch to get the branding the same sometime soon too.
Nearly there…

I have now updated my portfolio site with images from my final project, and the start of my ‘What is England’ project.
Not been too quick on the updates recently, despite finishing uni. Off to Durdle Door this afternoon, so hopefully a photo or two to come from that…

I’m home for a week for Easter. It rained a lot today, so I had a little spring clean on the blog and updated/redesigned it to fit in with my portfolio site. Next on the cards is to try and get more posts and pics…
Hopefully the weather sorts itself out.

Finally after many long days and late nights I have finally finished my new site & blog.
Its taken waaay longer than intended mainly due to the fact that we have a Digital Portfolio Unit at uni that was to build a website, so instead of getting one finished after summer as intended, I waited and built this as part of the unit. there are still a few tweeks to sort out, but its 95% there.
As for the name, well Phased Photography was nice while I had it, but I think it was about time to move on, become a little bit more professional about this and choose something that was a bit more slick. Mike O Photo kinda rolls off the tounge (and before you ask, mikeosborne, mike osbornephotography and mikeo were all taken…)
So there we go, thanks to the guys at 34sp.com the transfer went smoothy (I still need to sort out why my images aint showing up…) the pointers are in place, so the old adress re-directs to here, but update the bookmarks, its all change.
I will try and keep this a little more updated than I have been recently, and post up some (hopefully) intresting things as we head on into 2010…
